Bankswood is a traditional, detached cottage with its own private lawned garden. Situated in an elevated position, the cottage looks out towards Caerlaverock Wildlife and Wetlands Trust, across the stunning open countryside surrounding the Solway Firth.

The market town of Dumfries is a short drive away, and Bankswood is the perfect location for adventurers to base themselves during their stay in Dumfries and Galloway. From beautiful walks to adrenaline-filled mountain bike trails, there’s something for everyone.

Full Details

Bankswood Cottage is great for families, sleeping up to six people across three bedrooms. Perfectly situated as a base for exploring the local area, Bankswood has been renovated to a high standard.

Bankswood Cottage is all laid out on the ground floor.

Living Room: Wood burner (with initial fuel supply), smart TV, Blu-Ray DVD player.

Open plan kitchen / dining / living area: Electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer, smart TV, and french doors leading out to the patio.

Bedroom 1: Double bed

Bedroom 2: Double bed

Bedroom 3: Twin beds

Bathroom: WC, wash basin, bath with shower over, heated mirror.

A travel cot and high chair are available on request. Towels and bed linen are included. Dogs are welcome and can be booked in for an extra £20 per week.

Bankswood is a short drive away from the market town of Dumfries, where there is a choice of large supermarkets and high street shops, as well as a range of activities for adults and children alike. The cottage has Caerlaverock WWT nature reserve on the doorstep, as well as fantastic access to Caerlaverock Castle, where Historic Scotland runs events and activities in the summer months.
